I have been giving a lot of thought to what direction I would like to take my shop in. My friend
Julie & I did a craft show a couple of weeks ago, and on the way home I shared with her how I tire easily of making the same things over and over and over. I want my brand to be consistent, and to flow well, but I don't want to get stuck in a rut of making the same old product, different fabric. She is a much more experienced blogger & shop owner than I am, and she had some great advice that got my wheels spinning even more. SO, all that to say that I have been working on some new products and new ideas. I'm headed down a different path, if you will. At this point, I honestly have no idea what will make the cut. I don't plan to eliminate all of my current products, but I'm also not sure which ones I will keep. I'm sort of just trying to figure it all out. Can you tell? :)
In the meantime, I have listed all of the items I had left over from the craft show. I had some
diaper/wipes cases in great new fabrics, along with a couple of new
zippered pouches and
wristlet clutches. I hope you'll head over to
the shop and take a look around!
If you have any (kind) advice that you would like to share, I'd love to hear it! Is there a product that you would like to see me add to the shop? Please share your ideas with me! I love to hear from all of you.
Alison - I LOVE all of your current items! I can understand though how after a while the 'creative juices' start flowing again and the the desire to come up with new products comes along. Perhaps you could try doing different sized make-up bags, larger tote bags...Anything you do will be great. Also, I have to tell you that your prices are amazing! You definetly offer a great product for a very low price. Best of luck in all you do! Can't wait to see what you come up with.
ReplyDeleteI continue to be so happy with what you make!
ReplyDeleteI think your fabric choices are wonderful, and you surprise me with the things you put in your shop.
I really love my purse and I personally think using some of those new fun fabrics with the sling bag type products would be a hit. However, it's hard to compete with places like Target who sell a cheaply made bag at a crazy low price. Until I entered the handmade world I didn't have an appreciation for handmade. Hopefully others will appreciate the quality and design too.
Keep creating and loving what you do!
Well, I hope I did help and not confuse you more. :-) I'm eager to see what new stuff you do come up with.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see where you go. I just adore you and your products are impeccable. They really are. You my dear are such a light in this bloggin/handmade world. Come live next door to me!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see what you'll be making!! I say when you get really sick of making something, take a break from it! You can always go back to it.
ReplyDeleteI used the beautiful bag you gave me at CE this morning at the Post Office, and a lady in line couldn't stop talking about how pretty it was. Made me proud of you, and made me MISS you!
xo!!
I'd love to read a post about her suggestions that got you all energized. I've wondered if I didn't need to change my focus in my shop a bit, too. I'd love to hear about your convo!
